Schomburgk Planning Pty Ltd is a small, boutique town planning practice formed in 2004 to provide quality, experienced service to selected clients.

The practice specialises in expert evidence/advocacy in the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court, Supreme Court and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

The principal, Chris Schomburgk, is one of Queensland’s most experienced town planners, and especially one of the most experienced in town planning advocacy work in the Queensland Courts.  Chris has over 30 years experience as a town planner, having held senior management positions in local government, state government and private practice. 

Chris acts for various local governments including Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, and Gold Coast. In addition, Chris regularly acts for private sector applicants for small scale projects up to the largest commercial and residential projects.  Recent projects have included shopping centres in Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Mackay as well as residential estates and commercial and industrial proposals throughout Queensland.

The practice also regularly acts as a “peer review” for development applications prepared by other planning consultants, especially where there is a likelihood of the application being appealed to the Court.

Through its relationship with Dillon Folker Stephens town planners (also based on the Sunshine Coast), the practice offers high level, strategic advice about development proposals of all types and scales.

Schomburgk Planning Pty Ltd prides itself on integrity and professionalism.  If we can’t support a particular project on planning principles, we won’t act.  If we can support it, however, we’ll go in hard for the client, bringing the professional credibility that only comes with experience.
